Today’s blog is all about celebrating our coaches as it is National Coaching Week. In club we have a variety of coaches ranging from coaches who work full time for the club, work full time outside of club, retired from work, changing careers and still in education. But whatever other role our coaches play they’re all vital in making Central Galaxy Coventry the club it is.
Here are some of our coaches and their stories:
George, age 15 competes at the highest level in the country and is heading to his first ever British Championships in September. George coaches 2 hours a week with some of the younger boys in the club. George is a fantastic role model for the younger gymnasts in the club who is just starting his coaching journey.
Andy, is our head coach, he works with all levels within the club but specialises with the elite gymnasts. Andy coaches 6 days a week on top of his full time job as an engineer Jaguar Land Rover. Andy is constantly pushing the club and gymnasts to the next level.
Becky L, is our oldest competitor at 31. Becky trains twice a week and coaches once a week. Becky does all of this on top of her full time job as a teacher. Becky plays a great role between coaching and competing.
We want to say a massive thank you to all of our coaches and the hard work they put into the gymnasts. #thankscoaches
